We went to Monthauk (for the first time) for Memorial Weekend. It was nice and weird, fun and foggy, sunny and hot, delicious and tasty – all at once. We stayed on the beach at the East Deck Motel right outside of town. The room was very clean and had old wooden panels on the walls. Every night we fell a sleep to the calming sound of the ocean and woke up to surfers getting ready to hit the waves, jumped in our shorts, grabbed a coffee at the coffee cart and drank it at the foggy beach while nipping to a donut. When the fog lifted we walked around along the cliffs, jumped in the ice cold water, and then let the sun dry us just so we could jump in again. At night we had seafood and champagne. It was perfect!
