London based artists Ben West and Felix Heyes recently created a 1200 page book called Google. The book shows the first Google image result for every word from the Oxford Pocket Dictionary.

West and Heyes created a computer program for gathering the images and there was no filtering whatsoever. The Google Image search is a mixed bag, especially when you focus in on the first result you get, regardless of resolution or relevance.

The images are presented without word and no explanations, so one could say that the book is a complicated visual guide of the English language, since so many of the images have nothing to do with the words that produced them in the first place.
